I tried to mount it near the battery location that the instructions told me to, but the directions were vague and I think I was missing a bracket or two. I did get as far as removing the battery and trimming the plastic tray it sits in in order for the SC oil reservoir to fit. However, after thinking to myself this is a dumb place to put it and then looking at some pictures online from others' installs "the front in the middle by the bumper" location made more sense. Also, it reduces the length of hoses that have to route in between the SC, oil cooler, and reservoir. So, no. There is no benefit from mounting it near the battery from my experience.

I used my 18V Ryobi air pump to "blow"/ prime the oil through the system. Worked like a champ.

Yup that's what I'm planning to do, here's a good video for illustration:

I've seen both places. I put mine by the battery since that's what the instructions stated. But I do notice some people put them in the front by the bumper. So I suppose whatever is easier for you.

Is this system gravity fed? Just wondering as if it's mounted too low it might cause flow issues?

Not sure to be honest, I just followed the instructions stated. this was also taken from the rotrex handbook:

"The oil lines and the oil system components (filter, canister and cooler)
must be placed below or level with the supercharger shaft"

and

"To prevent oil leaks it is of utmost importance that the oil cooler, oil
filter and the oil canister with its cap are placed below or level with
the supercharger shaft."

Ah so it's opposite of what I'm thinking

I don't remember anything about a belt change interval, but it can depend greatly on where you live, garage kept, miles, etc. A new belt cost approx $65-85.

https://www.yourmechanic.com/article...rger-belt-last

The Rotrex manual states to change the supercharger oil every 50k miles or 2 years, whichever comes first. Rotrex oil is $100/ litre.

What I will most likely do is replace the belt, filter, and oil every 50k miles or 2 years. It'll be a couple hundred dollars, but that's cheap insurance to ensure many happy miles from the kit.

Not many miles for sure, but I'd personally be worried about how well the oil has held up over 3 years.

For both people who posted videos, does the abnormal noise speed up with the revs? If they do then you most likely have a bad bearing in one of the pulleys.

Honestly its somewhat difficult to hear while im driving. But from what I can hear yes it speeds up with revs. I know it only really happens once the car warms up. We had tightened the belt at one point and it definitely got louder. Once we loosened the belt up it went away for a bit and is now back but not as loud. I also sprayed a little belt spray on the cogged supercharger belt and the noise got quite a bit louder. At this point im hoping that means its not the blower its self and rather a bearing.
