Cartman: DS2500 squeeled a lot? Hmm. On stock or aftermarket brakes? On stock brakes here they were completely quiet 3/4ths of year and only on colder days in winter started squeel, not much/not very loud though, much quieter then half-worn stock pads did. So about the only thing i may dislike for them, they do dust a lot.

This is the RR racing BBK thread... I'm, of course, talking about them on the bbk...

I've emailed them, but as soon as I've asked about brake bias. There wasn't much detail or response.

For that reason, I'm most likely buying the Essex kit this Spring to pair with the ugly rear stock brakes.

Hello RR-Racing guys,

If you are looking for product ideas:

I'm looking for a simple caliper extender bracket and larger rotor kit to re-purpose the OEM rear calipers. You could include pads and sell it for about $499, I am certain there are lots of guys who want better rear brakes without spending a fortune.... give it some thought

I think that is possible by using tribeca brackets and rotors. You would just need to have the rotors redrilled because they are 5x114.3. Rotors are 320x18 vs 290 stock.

If someone wants to buy a caliper bracket and see if it fits with their upright/caliper the part number appears to be 26625XA01A. I'm like, 99% sure it will work.

Also racing brake has kits that do this. They have a rear upgrade listed but it's for the older cars.

how do these compare with AP sprint kit in terms of wheel clearance? looking at both fitment sheets, it appears the stage 4 is still more narrow than the AP sprint?

No need for ugly rear stock calipers. Change them out for 06/07 WRX 2 pots using a KNS adapter bracket. OEM Rotor is reused and there is no change to stock bias.
I've paired this up with the Sprint kit and it works great on track.

i certainly don't recall what i used as source now, but i had very different sport kit front numbers in my article - 1.49606x2 - which actually kept bias quite stock looking. however with the above numbers (i use 328mm = 12.9134 rather than 12.8 for rotor) - i'm ending up with 0.733, and the most forward of all their front only kit options then.
So we meet again, on FT86Club this time. I imagine complimenting the from Sport Performance BBK with the rears would help the bias get closer to OEM?

edit: I contacted RR Racing asking for some numbers. They were not very helpful at all...I was told that the brake bias chart they supplied was computed using brake pad sizes. I don't think you can use just that as a reliable way to compute brake bias...

editing this post 3 years later to say I have no idea what I was saying

Don't have the wheels yet, so can't test =/
Thank you!
here's an update for you. I just fitted the stage 2 fronts with 17x8 +45 RPF1's and the closest point between the caliper and spoke was roughly 2-3mm. I'm not running any spacers. the rears fit just fine.

I'm thinking of switching from the supplied BP10's to Ferrodo ds2500 or Carbotech. I am mainly looking for a quieter experience for daily driving and then running something more aggressive for the track, and I have read that those two are the quietest/streetable. Should I buy rotors too just for the track, or is it no big deal swapping back and forth? I will only be doing a few track days a year at most and a few autox days.

I sold my stock stuff and don't have anything to check. Who makes our OEM pads? Are the stock pads and calipers OEM-Style Brembos? I hear tell that Brembo makes most of the oem stuff and not just the expensive aftermarket stuff. Seems like if they do that the OEM pads should be pretty good, as far as, steet pads go, right? Compound for equal compound, they must be pretty good. Obviously upgrades would be to the compound itself, but not necessarily the quality of the part or formulation, right?

Looking for pads for the fronts (7420) and for the rears (7912). EBC redstuff shows DP3037/2C for the front and DP3057C for the rears. I can't find them in the states. Well, I can find the fronts, just not the rears. Any help?

I recall that I had mentioned previously that I would measure the caliper pistons next time I was in there. 1.615 inches based on my cheap digital caliper for the Sport Performance kit.
