Well they were now the front just looks sot of stunned.

I had not seen the new 86 until now. My initial impression is that it sort of looks like some kind of angry fish. Often, my opinion changes after seeing a few of them on the street.

It is an unflattering angle for that pic but I have seen a couple in real life and my opinion has not wavered.

I had it for 6 years, my wife and I drove it all over the country and up to Banff and never had a problem. It was basically a Mecedes SLK with new sheetmetal. I gave it to my daughter and son-in-law in 2014. They still use it everyday.
I had two friends that had one and swore by them, one of them actually worked on the platform at Mercedes. I myself never had the chance to drive one, but they loved it. The frs is the first rear wheel drive car I have owned.

No, it really will be. Safety regulations are making cars taller.

Well let's look at the companies that made the sports cars here.

Saturn - Gone
Pontiac - Gone
Daimler Chrysler - Replaced by Fiat Chrysler.
Maybe Chrysler can rebadge a Fiat. Oh wait... they tried that with the new Dart.
New Dart - Gone

I wouldn't hold my breath.

This thread reminded my of the car I drove through college- my mom's Opel GT. A quintessential slightly-underpowered but very light and well-handling two seater.

The Dart is based on a Fiat. The Chrysler 200 is based on a Fiat. The Jeep Cherokee, sadly a successful seller, is based on a Fiat. They all use the same basic chassis, and the Dart and 200 were killed off so they could build more Cherokees.

The Jeep Renegade is also based on a Fiat, basically like a 500X with muscle implants to make it look more buff than it is.

At this point I'm scared they're going to get really crazy and revive Eagle, and just badge engineer the whole Fiat fleet for the U.S. The new Talon will just be a rebadged and slightly reskinned Fiat Coupé, brought back from the dead after nearly 2 decades. The Tipo isn't gonna cut it.

Really though would this be so bad?

Chrysler as a brand is pretty much over and done with. I mean, what does it mean anymore to drive a "Chrysler". The only decent Chrysler made is the Pacifica which means hopefully "Chrysler" becomes the American "Mini-van brand".

"Dodge" has completely mophed into the American alternative to Chevy.

"Ram" was spun off into its' own make.

So for people that want more Eurpoean flavor in their passenger cars FCA only has Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and Maserati. Fiat's cars are too down market. Alfa perhaps too upmarket. Maserati is what Chrysler was back in the 50's. So why not rebirth Eagle for more urban types that bought yearn for Saabs & Opels. Heck Ford basically resurrected their passenger car sales by Eurofying their entire lineup (Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, Edge, etc.)

FCA Rebadge to Eagle "Sporty" cars for suburbanites.

Eagle Wagon Reimagined - Compact AWD Alfa Guilia variant
Eagle Talon Tsi - Alfa Guilieta QV or Guilia Veloce coupe.
Eagle Talon Sedan - Alfa Guilia Veloce variant
Eagle Soarer SUV - Alfa Stelvio Veloce variant
Eagle Hunter - Alfa 4C based halo coupe

Truth be told, FCA already has plans to use parts of the Guilia platform globally as the underpinnings for the next Challenger/Charger/300 (if made). Which if it comes to fruition, will make the Challenger/Charger better in nearly every metric.

Well, while it was really just meant as a joke, Eagle was basically the equivalent of Saturn among Chevy and Pontiac, only for the Mopar family back when Dodge, Chrysler, and even Plymouth were the more prominent names. Eagle was really kind of an also-ran when you can tell they're barely changed Eclipses and Intrepids. Sure, Chrysler has pretty much been gone ever since Daimler had them under their umbrella, but it'd still be a shame to see more of the corporation fold and be lost to history. I don't think bringing the brand back using Alfa models would be the way to go, though, because they'd be priced at a point American buyers wouldn't want to entertain when other things out there for the same money are better and are known quantities. The Eagle name doesn't exactly excite many people in the same way bringing back DMC or AMC would. I get what you're saying, and don't really disagree with the general idea, but rebadging Alfas probably won't fly as well as Fiats, and even that is a thin prospect.

Servco Toyota has the monopoly here in Hawaii.
There is no competition with any other Toyota dealer.
The cost will be passed along to the consumer. Same thing for Servco Subaru.
