Wonder if anyone here is planning to buy an 86, I'd order one now in case of 20% tax. Would this be the death of the 86 in the USA if it happens? :iono:

Will impact the price of cars made in the USA as well since so many of the parts come from offshore.

Damn, yeah. Toyota as a corporation could take the hit better then a smaller company I would think. Though if each unit is taxed the same it may not matter.

It's not like the market isn't flooded with used ones.

If new prices rise a lot used prices would too I imagine. Itll be like WRXs and you can find a 5 year old one for 80% of its original MSRP

Fck... IDK how WRX/STI is hold it's value. Just crazy... while 86/BRZ value is dropping like crazy. Which to certain point, I don't mind, cuz I can buy 86/BRZ parts for cheaper.

Yep, Im hoping now that the early year wrx is falling out of that 10 year finance window the prices will come down again. They had all dropped around 2012 and then sky rockets up again for some reason

Easy. The guys that were young or couldn't afford one now are old enough or can so they buy them up. The more buying them up the more they go for. It is the way of cars forever.

Simple economics. People are willing to pay more for them. If they didn't sell, dealers and private sellers would be forced to reduce the price. It's us,the consumer that drives up the price.

Well the 86 is priced as the affordable sports car. I just wonder how that would push out those looking to buy the 86 or any other foreign sports car that would push them to American sports cars just because of price. I bought my car because of the price point was perfect for me. If I would want to update I could be priced out of a foreign sports car.
