BRAND NEW FRS BURNT TO CRISP

Hey everyone ,
so I've been doing a ton of research and haven't been able to exactly find a correct answer. I literally just bought a brand new SCION FRS 2016 on September 26th with 0 miles on it . it was a ton of fun up until two weeks ago when I was driving on the highway and it started smoking ... then POOF within 5 minutes the entire car was burnt to a crisp . still brand new only had 5 thousand miles ... so I have a couple questions hopefully someone can help me with ..

any idea why it burnt to a crisp?

I leased the vehicle and put 8k on it , insurance says its a loss but does this mean I'm out my 8k?

also should I flip out on Toyota and tell them they owe me a car? its kind of ridiculous I had the oil change less than a thousand miles before and it was still practically brand new ..

any help would be great everyone thank you so much

Sorry for your loss.
Where's the pics though? I'll just put one up then:
What did the insurance company and dealer tell you?

This looks like it answers your questions: http://peopleof.oureverydaylife.com/...aled-8262.html

Lol yeah sorry I'll attach em here . Well I'm waiting for insurance to finish the inspection but I was just wondering if anyone had any prior experiences , I feel since it's a brand new car and everything was up to date I shouldn't have to put down another down payment on a new vehicle also I wasn't sure if Scion had any recalls or if anyone else expereinced this

Our cars aren't Ferraris or any other low production exotic car known to just spontaneously combust -- How could this happen?!

Very sorry for your loss, but hearing this frightens me.

It is my understanding that any down payment on a lease is completely lost if the car is totaled. That totally sucks, but that is also why one never wants to put a cent down on a leased car. In fact, I've always had the dealership pay the first payment. I've not heard of a new twin burning, only ones with fuel system mods. Perhaps you can complain to Toyota. Perhaps you can hire a lawyer to go after Toyota. Good luck with that.

Wait and see what your insurance says then consult an attorney. Go through your local county bar and they can refer you to a lawyer who is suited to your type of case

I dont know what to tell you OP, i had never experienced this before.

Is that for real? the pictures shows the car literally burned down?!
Am i driving a bomb everyday?!

I seriously think you can sue them for something like this, if you really didnt do anything wrong with the car.

You had the service done but you never said if anything was changed or modded. Was this a bone stock car?

wow, sorry for your loss. But it must be said, that this just can happen and by chance of probability it happened to your poor fr-s. If you google than you will see tons of "normal" cars in flames. Only inspection can tell why that happened, in general some cases are: electric short-circuit, fuel leak, cigars (yours or from the car in front of you)... I remember that Lambos caught fire from brakes and Ferraris+911 from chasis glue.
I wish you they will pay everything any you can buy a new one!
