can you refinish a burnt tip?

Hello everyone. My burnt tips on my invidia are faded. They are not as blue as they use to be. My question is can the be refinished?and if so do I go to the body shop or to a muffler shop?

If its the same as my old exhaust, you should be all set by taking a handheld blow torch to them and heating them until they discolor. It takes a slow, even heating until they turn a slight red, then letting it cool. You can look up burnt tip diy, i used one from nsx prime, and it worked well. It may not turn out perfect the first time, but you can always polish it and try again. If you're nervous to give it a shot, i would ask the exhaust shop, but I'm not sure if its a service I've seen done at a shop before, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Saw this from other forum. The guy did a good job using 9v batteries instead of using blow torch-- http://my350z.com/forum/body-interio...-titanium.html
