Fan on Oil cooler?
Curious if anyone has done this?
When drifting there is not a ton of airflow going through the oil cooler, and with back to back runs it can get pretty warm. I usually just drive my car up and down the lot a few times and they start to decrease. I was debating running a fan in the pull configuration to help aid airflow while drifting or after a run for cool downs. Are there any real drawbacks? I figure it may hinder airflow a bit, but not sure if there are any real adverse effects to doing this or how severe they might be? Is it worth it? It would be a pretty small fan, the few I've seen are around ~150CFM rated and they are all kind of pricey. If anyone has any input id be open to hear it! |

If your oil cooler radiator is in front of your coolant radiator then you (or your tuner) could just adjust the radiator fan temps and speed thresholds to get the radiator fans to run at lower speeds and temps.
see below or just turn the air con on at end of run and fans will run |

Oil cooler sits off to the right side out of the way with ducting next to my intercooler so unfortunately the stock fans don't do much for me. Thanks for the tip though!

I cannot think of a drawback. I would just make the fan manually controllable. You don't want it running all the time, just during and after runs.
