not easy if there are P platers out there. Any speeding fine that would be 1 demerit point = 4, which is total loss. I guess thats what you get the government being total c*nts

I couldn't see why not. BUT given that they are electronic odometre you would have to get it "written" to the correct k's, which will probably cost about $200 on top of the cost of the cluster, which I would foresee being $1500+ then you can't drive your car while the new cluster is getting written or the k's won't match up...
Alot of ****ing around for something think isn't really that big of a deal

US Spec cluster is $425 USD from the dealer. I can't imagine the markup being significantly different over there.

i think this needs to be gotten over, yes it is blatant up-selling but at least you have the tacho in the middle. the poor speedo is really because of that!

Are the US clusters reversed? Or is the speedo still on the left?

Fair enough. I had to order a cluster for a car recently that was $1600 at warranty price and much higher at retail. So I was just making a rough guess because i havent ordered a cluster for anything that was under $1000
Hopefully they are closer to US price

I've been using one of these for the past 3 years in my car. It provides a digital readout (via GPS so it's accurate) and also let you know when your approaching speed cameras and school zones. The great thing is it beeps whilst you're over the posted speed limit near a camera - great for 40km/hr school zones. For $88 its a bargain, if it reminds you a one speed camera then its paid for itself.

The database updates are FREE and continuously updated.

I'm hoping to fit it just in front of the instrument cluster behind the sterring wheel.

I'm the same. No issues with the GT. I can see people having issues reading it but I don't think they should have to change it to suit the minority. The Yaris sedan is way harder to read than the 86 GT for me.

US toyota spare part prices are a lot lower than Aus prices. For common parts it's easy to save 60% by purchasing from US dealers and having them shipped over.

I realised this after I posted. But it's a great excuse for the cops:

"Sir, why where you doing 160?"
"160? My speedo said 100!"
