Info on unmarried oft

Tomorrow, I'm buying an open flash tablet off someone. How do I know if it's unmarried and are there things I should check for before buying it

Thanks

iirc it won't allow you to read the current tune if it already has one in it.

Thanks for your reply, when I plug it into my car, how do I know it's unmarried (hoping that's the way to know) do I have to flash it on the spot, or can I just check wether it's unmarried or not

Info on unmarried oft

I don't want to make another post. Before I buy it , I have an injen intake. I've been told that after tuning it, my car will run smoother, will the open flash tablet help make it smoother ? Also , my car was made in the time where the direct injection problem was there. Will this help? Do I have to change my injectors
What I'm most concerned about is if oft works with the intake and if it makes the car smooth. Not looking for power, just smoothness over the rev range

Ok the OFT tunes are made for stock intake.

If you have an injen intake you will need to rescale the MAF (mas air flow sensor) to suit the new intake to get best results from tune, or put the stock intake back on car.

Early cars before mid 2013 from memory had a rom calibration with an error that caused excessive knock on upshifts when the shift occurred at or near redline. The problem was increased of you ran poor quality fuel like 91 usa fuel.

The oft tunes are based on the later calibrations which have the transient ignition retard enabled correctly.

you wont need to replace DI injectors unless they are already damaged, di seal failure usually results in poping out of the intake and sometime but not always CEL light and codes for misfire, but this can also indicate coil pack problems. Generally the DI seal problem only occurred on car tracked and driven very hard.
