Help with tire size please! Too much rubbing
Hey guys,
So my current wheels are 18x8.75 +35 with 245/40/18 tires. I'm lowered on ST Coilovers. It rubs a lot especially when the is at full lock. Fortunately, they are starting to bald so I am in the market for new tires however I'm not too familiar with tires sizes. I was looking into Hankook V12s but im not sure what size tires would eliminate the rubbing. If you guys could help give me some advice that would be much appreciated. Also, if you guys have any other tire recommendations thatd be great as well. Not looking for something too expensive as I am tight on money and still in college. |

Where are you rubbing? Front? Back? Both? Inside the fender? On the frame? On the suspension?

There is a tire sizing chart in the Tires Forum. Are you lowered more than 1"?
Keep in mind, this would only help for rubbing on the fender wells. Any other issues are probably going to be from having wheels that are too wide. However, since you are running 245s and I am on 265s (shout-out to the meaty tires thread), I'm guessing you are rubbing in the fenders from being lowered too far. Just check out the sizing thread, or raise the car up a little more. |

Quote:
2. Not enough camber. 3. Too low. 4. Suspension too soft. Most of the rubbing is caused by number 1 without knowing the rest of your setup. |
