I forgot to mention, the 2nd part of datalogging is that you want to record a 3rd gear WOT (wide open throttle, ie: floor it) pull from 2000rpm to redline. Making sure to record that whole process...so find a deserted stretch of road where you can safely do this.

Once you get the datalog, you can upload the csv to the site or http://www.datazap.me/ is popular as well. Let the folks that know about tuning tell you how the AFR is It can be a bit overwhelming at first getting to learn things...

The tablet will probably be fine mounted in the car. Not much of a benefit in doing that in my opinion, but that's just me. I plug mine in and out as needed.

Hey guys I have a few quick questions. I have Perrin 2.75" intake, and I've recently revised my MAF scaling to the values that Perrin provides, and at WOT my AFR is now just under the Command AFR by about 0.4 the majority of the time, but my LTFT goes up to +3.91.

On my previous MAF Scale (the default OFT Stg2 one), my AFR was a good bit lower than the Command (usually lower by 0.6-1), but the LTFT value was around -2.34.

Would a positive or negative LTFT value be preferable over the other? And is it better to be closer to the target AFR but have a slightly larger LTFT value?

Fuel trims can be the result of multiple things, but i think +/- 5 is okay for the fuel trims combined. And your AFR's sound close, both command and actual will vary a little bit as well. There are spreadsheets/tools available to help scale MAF more accurately.

most usa/Canada cars will be fine, its mainly the European/Australian ones that need a bit of tweaking due different fuel formulation and qualities

That should be fine, just log you afr vs commanded afr and see its not running too rich higher rpm your looking for low 12 afr on e85

Just bought used OFT from one of the users here. I plugged it into car but nothing happens - screen stays 100% black. Plugged it into computer and it turns on just fine. Also, OFM recognizes it, reads it, but says there are no devices installed. Any ideas?

If it turns on when plugged into computer oft is likely ok.

If it wont power up connected to obd port in car make sure the obd plug is in all the way and the other end of cable in oft is in tight.

If still no go the obd port fuse may be blown in car. check you have volts at pin 16 on obd port to chassis ground (or pin 5) should see 12v on pin 16 with ignition on.

also the oft/ofm software does not like usb-3 ports try a usb 2 port

How much heat can handle the oft? Leaving it inside of the car with hot or bloody hot weather

log commanded AFR instead of Atmospheric pressure.

save a log file with a few minutes of normal driving and a WOT run.

The LTFT looks high positive +15% , which is a bit unusual, if you had residual petrol in tank it would be high negative.

Im suspecting you might have exhaust/intake leak, or your running a petrol tune :-) on E85
