Location of dent.
Hey guys. I got a small dent on my car and unfortunately after inspecting it myself, it seems to be in an area that makes it hard to reach with paintless dent removal. What do you guys think regarding if pdr is possible at that spot? It's not on the seam, but close. And I know that they usually have to put a stick of metal inside to push out, which I don't know how they can reach there. Thoughts are appreciated.

When my car got hail damage (not my BRZ) I messed with the glue stick / pull method of removing dents. It works surprisingly well, I think someone that knows what they are doing, someone not me, could do it using that type of method. FWIW I got it to do an okay job on the side panels but when it came to the aluminum hood that was tricky.

There are several types of PDR that do not require going inside. Even the guys that do it from behind can reach the most amazing places.

When washing my car for the first time I noticed 2 small dents near the highest point of the rear fender. One was on the face of the fender and the other was on top of the fender very near the crease. Called the dealer ,setup a date to meet their roving body fixit guy.
Pull into the parking lot , the guy looks it over checking the access through the trunk--no way to get to the dent from there. He says he can drill a small 1/4"hole in the door jamb to get his special tool into the dents from the inside. Well I let him have permission in front of the sales manager ,who insured me that if I was not satisfied the body shop would do whatever was needed. Well in about 15 minutes the dents were gone ,the exposed metal in the door jamb was coated with ? and a rubber plug was inserted. The job was so neat it looked as if it came from the factory. 15 minute fix right in the dealer parking lot---who knew?? |

I'd suggest you give a PDR person a chance.
They are usually pretty good at what they can do. humfrz |

My PDR guy took a dent out of my driver side rocker panel under the door that was caused by my shoe (my foot got caught on the bottom of the door as I was getting in and the heel of my leather sole slammed into the rocker panel and dented it). That area is completely closed and sealed.
I thought it was impossible to fix it without drilling a hole somewhere to access the panel but he ended up using a glue pull method with tiny plastic tabs that would glue on, and some type of gun that pulled them off. Just make sure to find a good PDR guy that will not drill an access hole to pull a dent. A good PDR guy can pull a dent without drilling. |

Try removing the interior panels to see if you can gain access to that so as to avoid drilling?

Good call. probably could pull the rear interior panel and pop that sucker right back out by hand. I know I would at least try it if I had one there.

A really good guy can if he can get behind it. Those can't be glue pulled. If really small your best bet is to just fill it with paint and call it a day though.
