350 for best overall no-compromise gains, lightest weight. CS400 is cheaper and less clearance issues (especially on RHD), sacrificing slightly power at top rpms, adding a bit weight.

Effective mods for NA hp seem to be gutted header or aftermarket header, exhaust and intake, tune and flex fuel. More power seems to take much more money for much less gains.

If you want to do these mods for faster lap times, and not just more grunt on the street then consider the following:

--Depending on the track, good tires can be the cheapest mod for better track times.

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2S6MJt0998"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2S6MJt0998[/ame]

--Our cars are more momentum cars, so aero can help keep the momentum going.

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXOASqWt0Zo"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXOASqWt0Zo[/ame]

--Effective mods for increasing rpm response or rate of rpm changes seems to be gearing changes and reducing rotational masses through light weight components like LWFW or lighter rims, etc. This will get you into the higher power band faster.

--Braking will improve lap times...pads, stainless lines, master cylinder brace, fluids.

--Suspension with lower center of gravity and help with traction...springs, camber bolts, etc and work up from there in cost.

Actually, the CS400 has more clearance issues, but is RHD compatible. The A/350 clears with zero chassis/panel modification, but is not RHD compatible.

Are there performance differences between the two? For instance, CS400 has more low-mid torque, A350 has more top end torque, that kind of thing.

The CS400 has slightly more low end torque (2000-4000), the A/350 makes more power everywhere else, particularly up top where you really need power to go fast.

The CS400 makes for a slightly better street driving (non-revving-high) experience.

stevo: i'd think of A/250 or A/150 if it's track-only, as A/350 won't fit on RHD, CS400 is for mid/low rpms, 250 imho might be good compromise.
OK, supposedly 150 or anaconda is even more top rpm optimised, but if you use it for daily driving aswell, i doubt 6-8K is range header must be optimised only for, as often even on track it's not 6-8K, but rather 4K-7.5K (OK, maybe, just maybe +500rpm in your case to both ends of range). If you log rpms on track, i doubt car spends that big share of time at very top. And certainly it doesn't at daily driving on public roads.

Do the normal high end headers like ptuning or ace not cut it for you?

Let us know what exact powerband you expect power in and where you are willing to give up.

There are off the shelf header available to take on this endeavor, but it is severely dependent on what type of powerband is being used. For example, the ACE A-350 maximizes the factory FA20 powerband extremely well offering the best overall power delivery out of all the ACE headers, the A-250 shifts the optimal powerband slightly north, the CS400 shifts the optimal powerband down, etc. At that point, we need to know exactly where you are planning to use the power and where you are willing to give up before making a recommendation. Thank you!

I had been thinking A350 or Anaconda 42.7mm, with the Anaconda 48mm if he really needed the ability to move a lot of exhaust gas. 9500 RPM is far enough outside the realm of normal usage that I can't even guess at his requirements. You guys are the experts though.
