Yeah, literally the only thing that sucks is that its not manual.

But hey, it has "gearshift paddles, calibrated to Polestar specifications." whatever that means.

How has this car not hit my radar? The V60 is lookin mighty sexy (in a dad-bod kind of way). Too bad its Auto only, although maybe that's a good thing for daily.

Haha, I did like them when they came out. Main reason I'm looking at the CTS-V. Basically and G8 GXP wagon with magnetic suspension

Looking at new and used WRX's and STI's right now, maybe even a Focus RS if the mark-up isn't ridiculous. Anything else I should be considering? I do tend to gravitate towards japanese cars since I have the most experience working on them but I'd be interested in stepping out of my comfort zone. Something german perhaps? USDM? Looking at a CTS-V wagon this weekend, since I've never owned an american v8.

Also, part out or sell car as is? may be go back to stock and keep parts to eventually buy a used 86 someday to reinstall? trade-in or private sale?

Hmmmmm.....
Part out, keep a few things you love IF they are on the rare side. Sell the rest private party. Get a quote from carmax and maybe shop it private for a while. Its all a time vs money thing and what matters more to you at the moment.

I will say I still regret getting rid of my Prodrive intake and LHD floormats now that I'm thinking about getting another GD chassis (and I mean in like 5 years lol)

CTS-V wagon. Wagon all the things!

True, but you are also paying at least 15k more for a manual CTS-V wagon.

True. Looking around at prices, I'm really surprised at how well their values have held up. Could be because they are now rare considering there aren't any within 250 miles from me.

Yeah, I doubt there will be many new V8 wagons made in the future. Those times have come and gone.

So we finally got another manual 86 in (that isn't pre-sold). Drove it to my dealership from our storage lot (about a mile). I didn't smash on it (it's a new car, it's not my car, and the engine wasn't to operating temp). However, I didn't feel the torque dip as much as my car (which has the OTS stage 1 91 tune). Basing this at 1/3rd throttle up to 4k rpm in second gear. Not sure how it'd feel WOT though.

Definitely considered the GTI, drove my brothers golf r and was amazed at how livable it was compared to its performance, just a tad bit small since I will need two car seats back there and room for a dog (hence leaning more towards wagons). Same way goes for the Mazda3. I did test drive a Mazda5 and was very impressed on how well it drove.

CTS-V wagon test drive today was good, way more power than I'm used to. Not crazy about the leather, specially since its light/gray, but at least it will clean easily. The seller would not come down of price and told me he'd get back to me if nothing pans out for him. Gonna be taking a look at an S6 wagon tmrw. American or German V8, hmmm...

If you can't afford to get another car and keep the FRS, you can't afford a used S6's upkeep. CTSV wagon is a cool ride, but Cadillac doesn't built cars for the long term. The most reliable power wagon is probably the Forester XT. Golf R is great. Just more money and weight vs the GTI. I don't think the WRX is bigger on the inside. VW packages their cars amazingly well.
