There is a fuel system immobilizer something-or-other function that is built in to the programming. Yes, it can be tested with techstream. Over the weekend I looked but didn't find any reset procedure. There was an indirect mention of battery disconnection but don't hold me to that.

But a fuel system immobilizer doesn't explain why it won't even turn over. We are right back to square one with the lack of any starter action.

It seems to all be part of the same immobilizer system but I'm not sure. I'm too cheap to subscribe to the online manual so I fumble through google searches.

I keep checking back to see if the OP has updated.

My car dies when I do a 180 spin with the nannies on.

Are you lugging it out?

I don't think so, it's an auto. Reverse up to 20+, twitch wheel and tap brake. I figured it was a safety feature. Turn the nannies off, doesn't happen.

I got the car started, I got too worried about the whole situation and the battery just drain due to the trunk being unable to latch for the trunk light to turn off. I unplugged it and tied it's down from the inside to keep it closed.

Now I'm concerned about the damage. It's nearly dead center and pushed the bumper crash bar almost two inches in (the trunk can't latch).

Hard to get good pictures..

As far as obvious damage goes, here's a list of what I can see needs replaced:

-trunk
-rear bumper cover
-taillights (cracked on the lower portions and corner)
-cargo liner thing
-trunk release & latch assembly
-I could probably find more

I finally started driving it again today, I'm hoping all is well, feels great, something sounds a bit off but it may just be my N1 catback being weird. I haven't driven enough to determine if it feels misaligned or anything. I drove an automatic 06 Camry for a bit and I just can't deal, or want to deal with anything other than my FR-S. I have to follow up with Progressive (insurer of the guy that hit me) as well. I'd love any tips as my only other accident was as simple as Christmas 2015, 10PM, Route 3, Deer, Totaled 2014 Lancer, back at zero and got approved with USAA for the FR-S.

You haven't begun to find the damage. Get it in to a real shop.

I will be, I did begin to find some real damage when I looked up from underneath the rear which is what's got me worried. I was only commenting on the obvious less worrisome damage.

As far as starting goes.. I was too stressed out to think of how simple the issue really came to be, lol. That's even more on me than you all, I appreciate the replies though.

I didn't mean to come off sounding insensitive. It appears to be a standard repair but, according to some similar threads I've seen here, will cost upward of $6K.

Don't settle for anything less than perfect.

Also, a diminished value claim should be attempted
