Do I need to manually update VIN numbers within the tune? coming from HPTuners it would let me flash a tune with another vin on it but it would autoupdate the file for me while flashing.

I've got a buddy that had his OFT stolen after putting an e85 tune in his car. I've got the current oft tunes and romraider setup to where it will read them but i'm unsure as to how i need to go about flashing something back into his car. I'm just trying to get him back on a safe gasoline map.
You can do this with the tactrix. You don't need to do anything with VIN numbers. In your shoes I would do the following:

1. Use the tactrix to read the current tune
2. Use a hex editor to find the string "ZA1J" which should appear three times in the .bin. The four letters/numbers that come after it are the cal ID. All three should match
3. First post in this thread should have some stock tune files for most known cal IDs. You can use the tactrix to safely flash one that matches the cal ID you saw in step 2.

I used a supposed known good B01C log config file and the log file is largely worthless... my air fuel numpers are everything from 3-20 and most everything else makes zeor sense. I'll post up a copy of that log when i get to my laptop next.

The vast number of ecus available for this car is pretty astounding. I've seen that there are a lot of compatable files with one another but i'm unsure of how to pare things. To me if i have a B01C file i should use a B01C config. I've opened up the OFT tunes just to get an idea as to whats going on and even the B01C file from them says B00C within. EYE R KONFUZE

Oft guys do heaps of calid hacking, read the romraider tips link below.

with tactrix use the B01C files and defs, their is a little utility linked on first post at end with roms called Calid Check use it to check roms , it should return 3 indicating all the internal calid are same if not dont use with tactrix.

you will need to use the B01C ram address file for your logcfg.txt, from memory the c series one is for older A01C rom

i have attached my cfg file and a renamed log file. forum would not accept a csv file so i changed it to txt.

if someone could look at this and tell me if i'm just looking for the wrong thing or if its set up incorrectly i would appreciate it.

this is getting increasingly frustrating.

I'm going back through the initial post and saw where i may need to update ram locations due to a "new" B01C cal being on my ecu... i downloaded both the standard config as well as the updated ram address file with the intent of updating the ram locations. so far every single one i've updated has been exactly the same.

2014 Scion FR-S Monogram Manual.
ZA1JB01C is what ECU flash displays my ecu as. It displays my gf's 2014 BRZ Manual as the exact same tune

I'm not looking for anything in particular right now, i'm more just making sure i have the correct ecu cal files before i go tinkering and trying to flash things. If i cant log and look at things I def cant trust anything else thats going on.

That's obviously the file for original C series rom, not one of the ones labelled B01C. Try this

Also, don't blow your top, most of the people who provide these addresses, for free, are not located in the US, at all.

also, which roms would that log file work for? B00C and B01C seem like they would be a C-series rom.

logcfg.txt wayno posted Will be for B01C.

of your using tactrix and you want to log tune, just flash your manual car with B01C rom will work for 2012 to 2016, ie from 400C up to F40C romwill work if you flash B01C, do not use in new K00C cars.

ie read out and save your original rom, say D00G. then flash up waynos B01C rom, it will work and you will be able to log.

if their any dramas or you need to go back to stock just reflash the original rom you saved

back from the dead.
So is there no real way to log my stock tune? I will read back thru the last few posts and see what I can do. In the next day or so I'll flash it and see what happens.

It would be great if we had a table that said what works with what. The information seems to be scattered a bit among this expansive thead.

Also, I'm currently just wanting to calm down the cold start. In ECUFlash the Warm Up Enrichment table doesnt even show a tab to open for me to edit. Then again I guess if i will be flashing another tune into the car my current tune doesnt matter at all.

All you need is the correct RAM addresses for a D00C rom, each new rom complied by the manufacturer can shift around the RAM addresses where parameters are stored unfortunately.

If you have a tacrix cable download a copy of Toyota Techstream and it will log any rom calid (not as fast as tactrix though the refresh rate is anly about 5times a second.

is there a list that describes what each of these pids means? RPM2 means pretty much nothing to me and doesn't seem to have a useful output.

change the pdf to txt. got around the upload file size filter with that. here's what i just got. some of these numbers make ZERO sense.

Unfortunatly opensource is not supported like paid systems like OFT Ecutek or BRZEDIT.

It done by guys working for free and some don't even own brz/86.
It a lot more work and hassle than paid systems unfortunately

MAF mas air flow grams/sec
MAF_V mas air flow sensor volts
CL_OL open loop closed loop fueling
LOAD engine load calculation
LTFT long term fuel trim
STFT short term fuel trim
AFR air fuel ratio measured by 02 sensor
AFR_Commanded is AFR ECU is targeting

Fueling_Status likely port direct or combined not sure
FLKC fine learning knock control
FBKC feedback knock control
KCA Knock correction advance
ECT engine coolant temp
IAT intake air temp
MAP manifold absolute pressure

when their is stuff like RPM and RPM2 is likely they were testing the ram addresses to see which ones worked.

Id remove the lines Conditionprn and Action they will cause problems

I cannot test these as im on A02G rom.

The ram addresses were dug out by the romraider guys a couple of years ago, their likely off doing other stuff now
