Oil Leaking??

Good plan.

Yep, back-in-the-day ....... a lot of cars "burnt oil". It was easier and cheaper to just add a quart of oil every now and then ........ than to tear the engine down and replace the piston rings.

I'll betcha ol @Ultramaroon had old cars, that more stuff came out of the crankcase breather tube than out of the tail pipe.......

I know ol @Tcoat did ........ folks could track him, by the cloud of blue smoke that his cars left........

By what the wife's car left! If mine burned oil I stripped it down and replaced the rings!

Did you ever try to get the pistons, with the new rings, back into the block, without a ring compressor ....... ??

I drove the truck all the way to town, to borrow a ring compressor from my uncles shop.

When you are broke you make do!

The good part was you could use the same components for an exhaust repair when you were done the engine.
