The simple solution is to open the door for your gf. If you unlock the pass side first, the drivers side opens as well.

I tried it on my premium and it doesn't work. After 2 seconds of holding both buttons, it goes into panic mode.

Isn't this only for keyless entry?

I have similar question, sorry to hijack the thread, but since the original question is resolved.... I would like the car to autolock itself after it starts moving, and also open locks when I turn off the car. Is it possible?

I didn't see this as an option when reading through the manual. I thought this was a pretty standard safety feature on most cars now and was surprised that the BRZ didn't auto lock.

Sorry for bringing up a dead thread, but figured I'd ask here instead of making a new thread about this.

Since I finally got around to doing this, I noticed that when I open the door and hold both the panic and lock buttons for 5 seconds, it'll continue to beep whether I'm still holding it or not after the 5 seconds. It's a long beep followed by a short one. It still changes the settings of the locks (unlock just driver or both), but I was wondering if this is normal.

Is there no door unlock button on the limited's key fob? I know on the premium just like most cars with keyless entry the default is one press for drivers door only, 2 presses for all doors so I can just tap unlock twice to unlock for the passenger, I'm not familiar with the buttons on the limited's fob though.

There's an unlock, lock, trunk, and panic buttons on the limited key fob. And yes, hitting unlock button twice does unlock both doors.

I was talking about using the keyless entry on the door handle.

This needs to be made a sticky and added to the FAQ or DIY section.

You just made my car a little bit better.
