BRZ Limted Door Locks

I noticed that factory config with the keyless entry allows the driver to open their door but does not unlock or allow the passenger to open theirs. Is there a setting to change this? Kind of annoying to have to either pull the key out and use the fob or manually do it as the impatient gf waits lol.

There is a dealer setting to change the key fob behavior so that a single press opens both doors. I am planning to try to have the dealer set this option with the hope that it also changes the behavior of the keyless entry. I tried to have the setting changed at purchase, but the dealer looked at me like I had three heads...even after showing him the printed page from the manual.

There's a small "button" on the door handle you can touch to unlock/lock the door. The touch panel on the inside of the handle only works for the first door to be touched (which is kinda silly, it should open both doors if you're close). If you touch the little button (it's a small raised line in the door handle) it will unlock the door.

edit: p.s. touch touch touch touch touch touch

For the limited: Open the driver door with the car off, hold down the lock and panic buttons on the key fob for approx 5 seconds. When you let go the car should beep. Now both doors will unlock when you touch the door handle. Not sure if that works with the premium.

Thought that the keyless entry system was Limited only? Could have read that wrong.

But in any case, thanks a whole mess of gratitude for this (I'm sure I could have found on my own by reading the manual, but hey, why do that if someone else will do it for me right? :D).

Both are keyless. The limited has keyless start and the sensors to open the car without touching the keyfob while the premium just has keyless entry only on the keyfob.

Yes, that's what I meant, I should have been more specific. Hands-free keyless? Hafreekeyless? Hafreaky?

I didn't see this in the manual, it just had it listed as an option settable by the dealer, that is if your dealer has a clue. Is there a list online of how to set the dealer options?

This is awesome. How did you figure it out?

Random question, but does the car prevent you from locking the keys inside the car if they are placed in the trunk?

On the limited, the proximity of the keyfob would let you just open the doors, so basically yes

There is an antenna in the trunk and if you try to lock it with a key in the trunk it will beep at you and won't let you. I had it happen when I first got my car, I had both keys with me and wanted to just leave one in the car and lock it, it wouldn't let me so I ended up just carrying them both around.
