Actually all Americans suffer the extra weight due to CA emissions. Its not really all that cost effective to make an emission setup for 1 state (and how many others have modeled EXACTLY like it) and then another for the rest. They just make 'em all the same emission setup....at least they used to. I don't really work on new Yotas, so I wouldn't know.
Just know my 4AGE is a 4A-GEC, C denoting cali emissions.

Thanks you bunch of hippie assholes.

Not that unrealistic. The S14-S15 Silvia's were about 8-10 inches longer but weighed 2700-2800 lbs. Dunno how much safety regs changed since then, but don't think it's impossible. My guess would be closer to 2800 though.

The C.A.R.B laws seems to get stricter every year but I haven't been keeping tabs. The last I remember was CA models cars had an extra cat and less hp compared to vehicles outside CA.

I'm only assuming it based on if the NA is for the Toyota and the turbo version for the Subaru. I hope they offer both though.

If they can manage < 2800 lbs and squeeze over 250 out of a 2.5 DI boxer, we may have a decent car on our hands. Better still, offer a TRD blower or turbo and bump it up to 300+ for those who have the cash.

If this thing can't at least blow the doors off of a scion tC, they will collect dust at the dealership. Kids can buy Mustangs for 22K that would eat this thing alive.

Toyota -- are you listening? Give this car at least 1 bhp per 10 lbs of weight or you will regret it.

Sir, read the info in Subaru threat. It's 2.0L, sir, not 2.5L.

2700 is what i previously predicted.. thats not too heavy considering how heavy new cars are. the only new car lighter than that I can think of is a honda civic 2630lbs.

2630 for a 140hp/130tq.

We want 2630 with 200+hp/~140tq

Civic Si weighs 2886 and is 200hp, which is probably a better comparison. Take out the sunroof and maybe you're at 2840. But it's also 8 inches longer, 1.5 inches more narrow, and 3.5 inches taller... who knows what that comes out to, lol.
