I really do prefer android for a personal phone, but the iPhone works so well for work. Like you said, hassle free.

With all the androids I've had, I'm constantly tweaking things and I always forget to make back ups before I mess with the rom. I've had many a 'droid where I've had to make totally fresh starts.

I do like my relatively new Surface Book as a work computer. Used a Surface Pro 3 for a couple of years, it was OK but I need a keyboard more than a tablet.

Neither would do for my primary home computer though. Need more power!

yep they still are, my s7 has all the samsung apps, google apps (actually useful tho), and AT&T apps.

Not sure if it is phone specific or android OS specific but all of the above apps were grouped into nice folders by default at the beginning of your apps list instead of scattered through the apps alphabetically like on my S4 (s4 was like 3 OS behind though so that might have been why). I haven't gotten a single notification from any of those apps in the 2 months of having the phone so it hasn't impacted me at all. YMMV

Not bad, I do use most google apps fairly regularly (Google Now is amazing, 10/10 for that app) but it's all the BS Samsung software that I NEVER use. I'd just like to delete it all.

iPhones work because it takes a herculean effort to tweak them. Androids are just as stable if you treat them the same way.

I just don't care for Apple's draconian approach to things. If Microsoft tried to do some of the things Apple does they would be constantly in court fighting anti-monopoly statutes.

Random thought: You know you've worked in IT for too long when you have to make sure you don't add an "r" to the end of the word use. Userful is not a word.

And you know you have not been in it long enough when you forget to clear your clipboard and send boob pics out for tickets! Right FX?

Close to approaching 2 years and I'm already triple checking to see if I added an "r"...

Wonder what its going to be like 20 years down the road :o
