Remember the day when backfiring meant PULL OVER NOW because something was going to die soon?

Had my tune edited for this. It lasted all of 20 minutes because of how fucking annoying it got.

Yep, I remember .....

(damn - I thought I got the right wire going to the right spark plug)

And ...... the folks that would shut off the ignition, then turn it back on again .... BIG backfire ....... that would most likely give the modern likers of "exhaust pops" an orgasm ........

We used to do that with the old deuce and a half. Ride through town covered in Danger Explosives signs. Shut off the fuel pump for 3 second while coasting and when you switch it back on BAM. Oh the looks we got! Also tended to blow the exhaust apart every once in a while, then you were in shit.

The only downside would be if you have an actual muffler you can kiss any muffler packing material good buy it'll burn and blow out anything in there making your car much louder
I have been running my tune like this for 2+ years now, but slightly modified compared to what they mention in the thread about it.
Mine doesn't do it till over 3200rpm, otherwise the car is a bitch to drive at low speeds, gets super jerky.

only running one cat now, but it's intact, and the muffler packing is still fine.

Running PSR UEL headers/overpipe, stock downpipe with cat and Tanabe Medallion cat back.
Lots of pops's and crackles in general though from that setup.

Reminds me of when we would be in convoy (along with our 5 attached tanks).

The M-88 VTR would bring up the rear ...... in case it had to get any tanks unstuck.

Now, the M-88 had a V-12, air cooled, gas engine, that created about a thousand HP.

The driver of the M-88 didn't like the rads tailgating him. So, to back them off, he would make that monster backfire. Note the exhaust louvers on the back of the VTR were slanted down.

Flames would shoot out a good 8 feet out the back and singe the front of comrades car......

When I heard the word "flame-em" come over the company freq, I knew I'd have to turn my jeep around and go back to make sure comrade and his car were OK .......
