Some seriously good advice from Ultra there.
I think I have something to say too, after decades of climbing the ladders of international IT consultancies.

- Leave work when you leave the office. Don't think about work between exiting and entering that building. This is hard, but you need to master it.
Use your spare time however you want, just don't think about your job. If that means having to turn your phone off, then do so. And whatever you do, don't read company email on your spare time. Until you enter senior management, then it becomes unavoidable

- Be a professional and don't assume responsibilities which aren't yours. You think the company's going down the drain in the near future? Tell your boss and go freshen up your resume. It's not your fault, not your responsibility. Don't worry about stuff you won't be allowed to fix.

- Don't be perceived as negative at work. Offer solutions, not problems. (Cliche as hell, I know, but still important).

I think you're going to be fine, Steve. You remind me of me at that age. I was stressed out too. I felt like I was the only one who could save the project, the client, the company, the freaking world. (I was, and I did.)
I pulled through and learned to distance myself from all the bullshit, all the wrong decisions made over my head; and focused on doing my job as best as I possibly could, while at work.
After a few years of practice I'd turn off my computer at 4PM on a Friday, go have a fabulous weekend and show up rested and clear-headed Monday morning to solve all those impossible problems.

I was going to do half naked anime chicks, but I do way too much driving and auto-x (planning more track events next year)... The constant worry about chips and other stuff flying toward the car would be too much.. Especially if Im going to shell out good money for a wrap. I'll keep to stickers and such for now.

No worries about reading email, since I'm hourly and not salary, I give no fucks about what happens when I'm off shift! If they want me to help out, they can leave a voicemail (I never pick up phone calls from work).

Maybe I should get out of managed services and do something else, we shall see if things improve. At the current rate, doesn't seem that good. Before the really smart senior level resources left, they told me to get my certs (since they are paying for it) and then leave for other pastures. Hell, a few even asked me why the hell I'm still working there when I have a few industry recognized certs, could be getting paid much more elsewhere. At that time, I really needed a job and had no IT experience.

Anyhoo, thanks for the wise words. I'll try to chillax a bit more.
