A vice is helpful, but maybe just a C clamp would suffice if you had a fixed object to clamp it onto.

Just spent the past two hours doing the entire install again. Bar was not oriented incorrectly. I tried to flip it and there was no way it was going to go in. I did change the washer position though. I had the washer on the nut side of the endlink instead of the link side. Hopefully that helps something... I leave for the test and tune in 8 hours so I'm not going to bother test driving tonight...

That bar looks upside down to me too. I have the exact same setup as you and my bar is flipped. No problems or noises.

I've got the whiteline endlinks and they were doing the same thing, but I managed to fix it.
I took the endlinks off, completely removed one of the nuts and tightened the body down right on the rod end, then used the remaining nut to line up the top end. The noise stopped. The LCA damage stopped. Ive got use of both settings on the bar. I've run half a dozen autocross events with no issues popping up. It's cheap, easy, and you don't have to permanently modify anything. Try removing one of the nuts and let us know how it works for you. Last edited by Hostile_Kittens; 10-08-2016 at 05:36 PM. |

I tried flipping it last night and there was no way it was going to fit the other way. I couldnt even mount it. Fairly sure its just the angle.

@Hostile_Kittens Now that sounds like a good solution. I put about 15 or so runs on the car with the light clunking today and have a points event tomorrow so I'll try removing a nut tonight.

Update: My sway bar is NOT hitting the LCA. It's hitting at the top of the bar on both sides. After some autocross runs today, you can see where the paint was chipped off the bar from contact.
Can anyone confirm that the bar is oriented incorrectly? Or have a source for a picture of how the bends in the bar should look? I have the car on jackstands but I'm not going to start taking it apart again unless I'm sure, because I tried to flip it last night and it didn't seem like it would fit. No idea how I could avoid this contact based on where it is hitting. @strat61caster @scirocco78

I retract my previous statement about the bar being flipped. I had this same problem. You can tell by the touch up paint on my sway bar lol.
Your endlinks are too short allowing the bar to move up too much. http://i.imgur.com/ou2eJnu.jpg |

I ended up lengthening my end links so that the end of the sway bar was about 1/4" from hitting the control arm at full droop.

Mine is right about there as well. I saw scratches on my LCA so I thought it was hitting there, now I think it's just my lazy wrenching that hit the lca while tightening the end links

Interdasting, sorry for the late response but I snapped a pic of mine through the wheel yesterday, and I think it may have been a perspective thing, I bet with the links a little lengthened yours looks a lot like mine now with the end 'angled down'
I like Hostile Kittens suggestion about removing the nut, that seems viable if I never find replacement links. Worth noting but I have a different set of bends than OP's, but mine looks a bit like scirocco's Edit: Pic isn't too helpful, sorry |
