I heard that this is a common Subi boxer motor problem.

Chiming in here. I have the same leak at where the valve cover/timing cover/cam cover meet. Dealer has ordered valve cover gasket, timing cover gasket, and spark plug gaskets. They will be pulling my engine to replace sometime next week. I'm right at about 31,000 miles. Going to pay for spark plugs too while it's out.

4000 miles later, no leak. But... my engine run hotter by 5~10 degrees average than before. Not sure what they did that would cause this. Maybe a bit too generous with the silicon.

yay welcome to the club?

After eating a bill for installation of new clutch assembly due to a faulty release bearing, I've now found a leaky CV boot AND a weak battery. I'm still under warranty but I'm hesitant to take it in. I dont need to pay for "inspection" or "diagnostic" or whatever bullshit after they refuse to cover the repairs under warranty.

Make's me want to punch someone in the throat.

Do you know what sealant they used? Like, was it black or that special gray which they use

I believe it was a grey sealant IIRC.
