My dealer service department added some oil dye to the oil to try to locate the source of the leak. I've put a couple thousand miles on it since, although the leak showed up almost immediately after I brought it in. I'm dropping it off tomorrow morning. I'll keep you guys posted.

I'm sure a nice bead of RTV around the boarder can only help prevent it from leaking. My car only has about 20,000 miles BTW. This leak started quite a while ago.

you might try replacing the VC gaskets, and applying a bead of ultra grey RTV all the way around the gasket area to reinforce the gasket.

Roughly 10 ft pounds. Use your own judgement though.

Here's my encounter. I'm boosted btw. I am not blaming the turbo kit for this issue, just bad luck

Nah man I'm a mechanic. I don't work on my own car haha. Even though I might have a head leak.... 40k on 13 frs. Completely stock. Gonna pull it into the shop tomorrow to clean off the head gasket area and drive it for a bit. See if it is leaking or not.

An update on my warranty claim. The dealer techs traced the leak to the cam chain cover seal, so it will require Subaru sealant to reseal which the scion/toyota dealer had to special order. It will also require a new crankshaft seal gasket as well. Which they did not have in stock either. Good thing the dealer service department offered a complimentary rental car for my troubles billed to Toyota.

Timing cover... long story short, under boost your internal pressure is increasing. As it increases youre blowing the seal and forcing oil out. External pcv and a reseal of timing cover and potentially maincap.... @ptuning just fixed this on my car

Got my ride back this past saturday. Reflashed tune, and everything is peachy keen. Will check back after 3000 miles and see if it starts to leak again.

Why take so much of a financial hit over a leak? Wouldn't it be cheaper just to fix the leak?

I'm in school, people I'm staying with aren't Supportive, and I simply don't have time to deal with it at the moment. Idk, I'll fix it one more time, and if something fails, bye bye frs
