2016 FRS steering feel lighter than the previous models?
Juz got a 2016 frs. Everything is fine except steering feels lighter than before. Drove a 2014 model two years ago. The steering used to feel a little heavier. To me, that provides more steering feel.
Anyone know what's going on? They changed the steering on the 2016 model? |

Same tires, suspension, air pressure?
No changes were made between the 14s and 16s other then calming the suspension a bit. Should be noticeable difference.

That's weird. I do felt the different though. Is there anyway to improve the steering feel by making it feel heavier?

Bigger stickier tires is the only way. The steering is electric motor assisted so no adjustments are possible.

OEM has a range for its alignment, not specific values. The tires could be within the approved range and still produce iffy results, especially if they're each at a different point within the range. I think that would be my first mod: camber bolts and an alignment, to make sure everything is where it should be.

Too subjective to answer since we are not calibrated as to what is "light" or "heavy". I drive a 13, 14 and 15 in quick succession once and found them all about the same.

Juz checked with dealer today and tried another 2016 model. It feels the same as my new car. That's why I am wondering the year of the model does matter indeed

The brand new tires on the newer cars could be giving you a false feel. The 14 tires will be worn more.
