Anyone replace their spark plugs themselves yet?
I just noticed that at 60k miles it's time for me to replace the spark plugs in my car. This is going to suck ass! One of the few times having a boxer engine sucks ass. I may be asking for assistance in the coming months.
Oil filter on top is one of the best parts however.

There are posts up that show the correct tools to use, doesn't look terrible, but certainly requires some disassembly.
If the car is still running fine at 60 I intend to run mine longer than the interval. Iridium plugs are normally good for 100K, at least. |

I know there are DIY but if there were any people that I could talk to in person as in person is always better for me just in case things aren't 100% clear.

I saw a post from FRS86 in LA about changing plugs with no disassembly. Probably some handy tool work with the help of mirrors and some witchcraft.

With the aid of a mechanic friend, we did it. Prepared for an epic battle, wasn't all that bad.
Not too much disassembly was required. Removed the high pressure fuel pump cover, engine under tray, the two motor mount bolts and that was it. We jacked up the engine maybe 2 inches to clear the frame rails. Just recommend having several flexy joints for your sockets, a magnet on a bendable wire, and a palm ratchet. Took us about an hour from start to finish.

The front plugs actually aren't that bad. It's the rear plugs that are difficult as the frame rail tapers in toward the rear of the motor. I unbolted my engine mounts and tilted the motor, one side at a time to do the rear plugs. It is tight back there and you just have to be patient. A finger socket driver is a useful tool for this task.

I have Perrin Engine mounts and I heard someone say the bolts suck and if you remove them they should be replaced, so if I have to do that then this will be not as pleasant.
@Imrac you have a same exhaust setup as me and I was tuned at DriftOffice as well for my supercharger. I originally had the Nameless axleback as well but after adding the catless headers I couldn't handle going up hills as it was too loud and the freeway I use has a long hill. I wanted to shoot myself after a while. So happy with the swap to the Q300. I've had a ton of compliments on the sound of my car and I've had the pleasure to listen to someone else drive my car at the track and I agree with people's assessment. I have videos on my youtube if you'd like to hear them.

...ok, so you've failed. What is really needed is some thicker washers, I can supply some thick grade 9s.

Also, +1 on the exhaust setup . What SC did you go with? My car will be paid off within the next 6 months, so it might be time to force some air in there

Actually on the Perrin mounts, they are, in fact, bolts rather than nuts. I so wish they were nuts and studs. In fact, if anyone can point me in the direction of a 7/16-18 stud and flange nut of decent grade I'd be eternally grateful.
