From what I understand, for the most part Subaru did the suspension and drivetrain (design) and Toyota did the interior and body (design) with a few points hard set from the suspension side.

No idea how accurate that statement is so take it the same as anything else you read on the internet.... Gospel.

No, just built. I think they did most of the testing and mechanical design(some parts are interchangeable with the WRX) but it's definitely not their idea and it wouldn't look the way it does if it had been

I'm not a fanboy - I'm just an owner who is learning about all of this stuff that it seems everyone else must know from following the creation of this car. It fits in my garage, and I fit in it. It just happens to be a very cool iconic car - and although I'm very happy to have made this choice, some of the details don't make sense. Like: If mine is a Toyota, why is it a Toyota, if it was built in a Subaru plant?

This is argued about to wits end on who did what. It was a Toyota concept with a chief engineer from Toyota. Both companies worked on it and all are produced at the same Subaru plant (see how many parts say Subaru on your car. basically all of them).

Toyota is also a major stakeholder in FHI, Subaru's parent company.

MT is Toyota. D4S is Toyota. And I know Toyota did the exterior cuz I met the guy.

Some are from other Subis as well. One set of brakes (cant remember which) is off a Legacy GT.

I'm sure we're all fully aware, you noticed the car first, otherwise you would not have revved. You tried to say hello, and 'hey, look, we both have the same car,' and that's the end of the story.

If you talk to people who try to say otherwise, you entertain their idiocy.
