I'm not a fanboy - I'm just an owner who is learning about all of this stuff that it seems everyone else must know from following the creation of this car. It fits in my garage, and I fit in it. It just happens to be a very cool iconic car - and although I'm very happy to have made this choice, some of the details don't make sense. Like: If mine is a Toyota, why is it a Toyota, if it was built in a Subaru plant?

There are dozens of cars made by one company and badged as another. Where it is physically built means nothing.

Well haha the engine block for example, is no Toyota... it's not fair to say that either. There are parts Toyota and parts Subaru.

I don't even meet people anymore too much, so it's theoretical I suppose. Making friendships are hard enough, anxiety disorders, blah blah. I have never had a date in my life where I wasn't already good friends and comfortable.

Which is great, until you break up and lose your best friend too. That's where I'm at now. No friends, just me and my son, and not willing to get hurt again, even though it's extremely lonely.

I saw a video of Subaru Designers talking about how they built the car to be lower and lower and lower, and then I heard that Toyota designed it. So, Toyota must have designed the outside of the car, right?

It's not what you intend, it's what it looks like. To her it looks like exactly what you didn't want to say. Women are on guard all the time and just because they may or may not be a "car chick" doesn't mean they suddenly stop being women with all the associated BS that women deal with on the daily.


Ignore them next time and they will rev at you. When you don't acknowledge them they start to doubt their attractiveness and will compete for your attention if only to verify they can still get it. That's when you compliment the car. Step 2 ? Step 3 Intercourse and/or racing.

Yes. Toyota did much of the design. Subaru did a little and all the heavy lifting
