Cable through engine Firewall Plug help
Got a set of fog lights and attempted to install them last night but failed when it came to the cable that needs to run through the firewall plug into my dash to activate the fog light button.
The plug seems ridiculously tight with the cable bundle going through it that there isn't even enough give way to get another small little cable through it. Which is I guess a good thing in that no water will get into the electronics but I spent a good 30 to 40 minuets trying to get this cable through there with no luck. Its located where you can really only get 1 hand in there so if anyone has any suggestions on how to get the cable through it easily I would love to hear it. Dont want to tap my fogs into my headlamps. |

Have you YouTube FRS/BRZ fog light installs?
Or just give more beans, try lifting a few reps then try again. Don't be gentle, choke it a bit, slap it a round, make her call you daddy. Know what I mean, know what I'm saying?

Yeah I've watched every video out there and they just say "run the wire through the firewall" but you cant actually seem them do it. As there is just enough room to get 1 hand in there. Which is what makes prying it open enough and trying to feed the cable through so difficult.

On mine there was a little "nipple". You just cut it and run the cable through.

ziptie the end of the connector that you want to bring through the grommet and push the ziptie and connector as far in as you can. go to the other side of the grommet and grab the ziptie and pull out. of course, make sure that the connector can actually fit through the grommet in the first place.
or you can also get a long screw driver and feed the connector through with the flat tip of the screw driver.
