Mishimoto catch can or Radium
Hey guys,
I need help deciding between the 2. The mishimoto baffled catch can or the radium PCV catch can? My car will be NA for the time being and for quite a while. I've searched on this forum that you would mainly require the PCV side only. Also upon research i've nailed it down to these to catch cans because it seems like both are right up there if you were to buy a catch can. I also understand the radium isn't baffled and obviously the mishimoto is. Any other differences and reasons as to which one to get? Thank you, any help much appreciated! |

If you NA and a daily driver I wouldn't bother. Track and boost gives us a lot of blow by. Easy way to see if you really need one is to pull your intake off and look at your throttle body. If you see no oil, then invest the money elsewhere.
I personally made my own and saved hundreds. Google your friend.

I bought the Radium because I liked the look of it (and the fact that they are big in the Lotus scene) lol. I only bought the PCV side though. I have yet to check the dipstick to see how much oil accumulated over the last few months, if any.

I too got the Radium Dual cuz they look nice, offer the dipstick and had great reviews from what I read. I got both since I'm FI. Back when I was NA the PCV side collected some but significantly more with FI.

They're very different designs aesthetically, but both function identically - it really comes down to the look you're after. I went with the Radium unit and like it very much.

Also they mount in different places, which was an important factor when I chose Mishimoto. I would have preferred the Radium setup if it didn't mount where it does.

Hmm, so i either will do depending which mounting location you prefer.. How about the racer X catch can?? They look very well built too, anyone care to share their opinion on this can? Obviously this one is a little more dearer but takes care of both crankcase and PCV?

I chose the dual Radium set-up due to what I think was better internalle baffling since it looked to have more surface area for oil to adhere to and therefor keep more from getting back to the motor

Racer X NA motor user here. The unit pulled a good amount of oil out of recirculation by my first servicing. It's also the most sexy set up so it gets my vote.
