Route 198 between 101 and I-5
Thought I'd share my experience yesterday.
Coming back from Irvine yesterday, I decided to drive up the 101 since it was my first opportunity to do so. As I headed north, I saw the signs for 198 and after looking at Google Maps, decided to cut back over to the I-5. If you haven't had a chance to drive on 198 before, I highly recommend it. The road is obviously out of the way and added an extra hour to the trip home, but it was worth every minute. The road is very twisty, with lots of elevation changes, straight aways, hill climbs/descents and S-turns with blind corners. The car saw a lot of 3rd and 4th gear, with speeds anywhere from 25 MPH to 65 MPH. This is the sort of road the FT86 was made for -- not about power, but rather being in the right gear at the right time and enjoying the handling of the car. The new Tein Flex-A's handled admirably and coupled with the EDFC active controller made every turn even more fun! Cannot wait to find an excuse to head back down that way to take 198 again!

Sounds familiar... hmmm is this the road that Motor Trend closes down for a few days each year to evaluate Best Driver's Car?

198 is great. Try 33 sometime between 5 and Ojai.
