Low End TQ Loss with Catless FP/OP?

Hey guys, so I'm planning to pick up at catless front pipe and overpipe.

However I stumbled onto a thread from 2013 about someone putting on a OP and saying they lost the low end TQ.
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36825

Is this actually true or false? Do you lose low end TQ with a catless FP & op?

I also have the OFT Stage 1 tune with a catback/drop in filter if that matters.

Thanks!

Doubt it. I didn't notice any difference when I installed mine.

Why not just go catless header, where you will actually see performance results? You already have the OFT so there is a bit of room for improvement on smoothing out the torque dip and increasing peak HP.

The front pipe is the one thing I haven't changed, and I swapped the over pipe only because the header outlet was a bit too big for the stock over
pipe and it was a $99 investment.

You won't feel any difference with any exhaust components on this 150whp car. Unless you go header and tune.

I would but I'm worried about noise. If I could find a header that I could try on to see how loud it is with my exhaust, inside cabin noise and exhaust smell that would be sweet. But to buy a header not knowing what to expect apart from knowing its loud is a tough decision for me.

I was going to get the apexi catless header with there catted fp and op (the header only comes like this) because it keeps noise levels the same as stock thanks to the excellent resonator in the fp, but that option costs $3000.00Cdn.

I believe that is too expensive when I could just buy a header for $1000.00Cdn.

So basically this is why i'm in this situation with buying a fp/op. The front pipe I'm looking to get keeps the same sound levels as stock.

By the way, thanks everyone for the response!

Save the money on the FP/OP and buy a catted header or something? Get some real gains out of the mod if you want to modify the exhaust.
