Harder? For those steeling professionally? No. A bit more hassle/time, a bit upping your chances. If your wheels costs $3K, thieves can work around few extra inconveniences
to buy most common locking lug nut tools covering 90% of them used. Or damage car/wheels in spite. Certainly not something i would rely on as something definite. Can also be extra headache on track days, where you may switch wheels often and without lug nuts you could have used any borrowed simplest wrench.

Here is how they look on the car. the winning blue has grown a bit on me but i wish i had gone with a staggered set up rather than square. 18x8.5 +33 all around. If anyone knows someone who has the same color wheels but with 9.5s i will be willing to trade two of the wheels with them.

57Xtreme 18x8.5+42 Face 2 - Squared
57Xtreme 18x8.5+42 Face 2 (Squared) on 225/40/18 tyres
Eibach camber bolts up front set to -1.5deg camber, rear is about -1deg camber & -1.5mm toe in using SPC LCA. Eibach ProKit on an otherwise stock strut. Inner wheel/tyre clearance is 4mm up front - wheel no chance of touching, tyre is 4mm away but after a few thousand k's driving there's no rubbing anywhere. I love these wheels ![]() Edit: Forgot to mention weight: OEM 17x7 wheel/Primacy tyre = 18.7kg (virtually new tyre) RAYS wheel/ContiSport5 new tyre = 18.8kg Edit: corrected rear camber with SPC LCA
Last edited by ZZT86; 07-11-2016 at 09:12 PM. Reason: SPC arms |

I just bought these wheels and was wondering if the hub centric rings were necessary for the brz? I can't really seem to find a straight answer to this

You will if it's not the same 18x8.5+42 size (as above) which is made for the 86 with the perfect hub bore of 56mm. All the other sizes appear to be 65mm.

Hello Gents
If I want to run 18x8.5 +33 up Front and 18x9.5 + 40 in the rear, can I do this on the Stock suspension? Need I purchase any other components? Hub Centric rings? Would Both flat front and face2 fit on the front, (stock suspension) What tire size would be ideal for the above set? I will drop later slightly but Do not want to be on the hook for coilovers and wheels all at the same time. Sorry I have been reading threads left and right, and getting some conflicting info. Thanks Guys! |

^^ sure the above specs will fit although hubrings will be required. Tyre choice will depend if you care for rolling diameter or not - personally I wouldn't stagger but I would fit 225/40 @F & 255/35 @R on those rims.
BTW - anyone here got any tips for cleaning these Rays 57Xtr wheels ? Last edited by ZZT86; 04-26-2016 at 05:12 AM. Reason: typo |

What kinds of tires are most people running?
Im currently on 245/35 front and 255/35 rear MPSS and the tires are seeing close to the end of their life. Looking for something a bit grippier than them but cant find many tires that offer both those sizes.

Where did you buy these wheels? Evasive? I'm on stock suspension. Do you think I'll have rubbing issues if i buy these with MPSS 225/40 tires? |
