You mean those guys who are like " I was going 75 on a boulevard when a car came out of nowhere into my line and caused me to crash" when in reality dipshit was coming around a blind corner way too fast and never even saw the car already engaged in the lane that he crashed into at 75mph and then feels like the law abiding drivger is responsible... you mean those people?

The Eastern Seaboard? I thought he meant California.

I do not believe that 12.18% represents a majority.

You are correct 12.18% is not a majority. It is however enough to make California the most populated state in the nation by a margin of >11 million people more than 2nd place: Texas.

If I have 39 million cars in location X and 10 million cars in location Y, is the fact that location X has more car crashes an indicator of ANYTHING other than there's more cars in location X?

41/50 states have fewer than 10 million residents, that's fewer than 1/4 the residents of California. Of course a facebook group is going to be dominated by the region with the highest population. Of course you can draw a circle around the Eastern seaboard and have more people in it, you'd have to add up all the cars crashed from Florida to Maine to prove the stereotype, but I'm not terribly interested in that.

Nevermind, simple solution time, Californians are dummies.

Edit:
Remembered there are sites that track crashed car auctions:

http://www.salvagebid.com/search/?ev...e=&salesType=*

18 results for FR-S, 5 in California, 5 in Eastern states (FL, PA, CT, SC, NC)

8 BRZ's, 2:2

http://www.salvagebid.com/search/?ev...e=&salesType=*

Yep. Not disputing any of that just the minor technicality that you said the "majority" of the population which isn't even remotely close to accurate.

Using the percent of population instead of number of residents then Facebook should not be "dominated" by California since it still only represents 12.18% of the country. Doesn't matter that it has more people.

Don't need to take the whole sea board just take Texas and Florida combined for a total of 8 million more that California. This gives us 5 crashed in California to 1 in Florida/Texas.

Heh, just take NY, MI and NJ to make it 5:0, californians confirmed worst drivers in the world!

You're right, not dominated just that Californians will roughly make up 12/100 facebook members compared to 9 from TX, 6 from NY & FL, and <5 from every other state.

If an 86 is crashed that 86 is over twice as likely to be from California than any other state aside from Texas.

That actually brings up another point. Forget about populations since not every person in the each state has a 86. Need to look at he distribution of the cat. If you have 2 crash in California the total percentage will some thing well behind a decimal point. Have two crash in North Dakota it may be 80% of the 86s in the state. This would support the higher Facebook count way more than population would. Also need to look at the demographics that use Facebook since many just don't have it.

Hmm not sure I follow too closely on that one, you're going to have to rephrase, all I got is 2 crashed 86's in California is a fraction of a percent, 2 chrashed 86's in ND is a much higher percentage of that state's 86 owners crashing their cars.

Why would anyone, even a North Dakotan, have half an FRS/BRZ?

I rushed it since supper was ready.
The number of 86s in California blows most other states away. You look at the members map and there is only one shown for all of ND. So naturally there are way more crashed in California. State population has nothing to do with it in the long run.
