They also did around 10k road and track miles I was told.

They tested at some tracks in the uk but also took the car to spain and tested it in a baking heat of summer over there.

I believe one of the dev cars is/was Matts daily driver as well so they tested it in a variety of conditions.

I also heard they ran a nurburgring simulation on the dyno for 1000miles but that wasnt from Matt so not sure if there is any truth in that but Porsche use Nurburgring simulations for engine dev so not unbelievable.
I was close enough! lol But it really is reassuring they tested the car as much.

Oops, sorry, I didn't notice that. You could also try RallySport Direct. They are also a distributor of Cosworth goodies.

Doesn't the tune also play a factor in passing CARB? When looking at other FI product offerings, it appears that it's only legal when used with their CARB certified tune.

The only reason against harrop is that I know next to nothing about the SC or company.
Same SC as the Edelbrock..... Is more popular here as AU$ is preferable to US$ at the moment. Obviously can't comment compared to JPY.

Only thing I got behind the engine is the axleback TRD quad tip exhaust.

Trying to keep it simple, avoid headaches, and spend as little time in the shop as possible.

I didn't know there was cutting involved, it's a bit of a turnoff, but if it is minimal maybe I can swallow it.

As long as it works, and doesn't cause issues I'm ok. I'm mostly worried about the heat, it can be 35C for weeks on end in the summer, and in the winter can hit 0C, though normally is around 10C.

What do you think? Could it be the right kit for me?
the only cutting required is the plastic guard around the AC pulley for the new belt run and the plastic side panel by the radiator to get the Intercooler pipes through
both easily reversible by fitting new plastic parts
the crash beam is untouched and the kit is designed to be fitted in a days work for a professional and over a weekend by a hobbyist

Correct the tune must be included and locked from tampering to receive emissions certification.

The $1k difference in price between the CARB and non-CARB FI kits like JRSC and Edelbrock also includes the $500 ECUTek kit and license. Effectively JRSC/Edelbrock are charging $500 for the tune and CARB certification. I believe you can work with a vendor and save $500 if you already have an ECUTek, or just turn around and sell the one that comes with the kit.

Does the $6,500 Cosworth kit not come with an ECUTek cable and license?

I don't think it does. At least from what I'm reading from the product page - "Easy to install and supplied with Cosworth engineered ECU calibrations*" followed by (below the graph) " * Power Package ECU calibrations are supplied in Stage 1.x upgrades."

Although, I could be wrong. @Matt@Cosworth - can you clarify?

I was looking for more information about this kit as a whole and haven't been able to find any answers. What supercharger is used in this kit? I heard Eaton somewhere but I don't know exactly.
Also, does anyone have more information on the cooling system? As far as I know Cosworth is the only one to have heat exchangers in the manifold which I think is a really cool design and I'd like to know more about it especially because it does a great job cooling.

It's a TVS900 unit. For reference the Edelbrock and Harrop use the TVS1320, but they have the same boost max. As for the cooling, I know the temps and info have been mentioned. Harrop and Edelbrock both have the exchangers in the manifold as well, but not as large as those in the Cosworth unit. So it's pretty good at keeping temps down.

Yeap its a TVS900 which Cosworth decided was the best size unit for a high revving 2.0 litre engine. A big misconception with the bigger blowers can produce far more power which is untrue as they all have a 2.4 pressure ratio celing. Proof of this in the harrop dev car. Runing a pressure ratio of 2.2bar it managed 380whp on e85 which is about 320whp on normal pump gas.

Cosworth have successfully spun the tvs900 to 28k rpms which wpuld be enough airflow for well over 400hp but within spec it should be good for about 380hp on slightly lower compression.

As far as the cooling systen is concerned. If you search the forum or check the cosworth website are plently pics but it uses two large exchangers in the manifold and a pass pass radiator mounted up infront the coolant radiator.

On track I see about +15C increase in post cooler charger temps which is among the best.

Another thing to consider is the time and effort put into the development and calibration. I've mentioned cylinder balancing in the tune which makes the engine run a bit safer as it evens out all the cylinder pressures. This requires individual cyclinder pressure sensors to make it work, ideally on a test bench.
