Oops, sorry, I didn't notice that. You could also try RallySport Direct. They are also a distributor of Cosworth goodies.

![]() Doesn't the tune also play a factor in passing CARB? When looking at other FI product offerings, it appears that it's only legal when used with their CARB certified tune. |

The $1k difference in price between the CARB and non-CARB FI kits like JRSC and Edelbrock also includes the $500 ECUTek kit and license. Effectively JRSC/Edelbrock are charging $500 for the tune and CARB certification. I believe you can work with a vendor and save $500 if you already have an ECUTek, or just turn around and sell the one that comes with the kit. Does the $6,500 Cosworth kit not come with an ECUTek cable and license? |

I was looking for more information about this kit as a whole and haven't been able to find any answers. What supercharger is used in this kit? I heard Eaton somewhere but I don't know exactly.
Also, does anyone have more information on the cooling system? As far as I know Cosworth is the only one to have heat exchangers in the manifold which I think is a really cool design and I'd like to know more about it especially because it does a great job cooling. |

Yeap its a TVS900 which Cosworth decided was the best size unit for a high revving 2.0 litre engine. A big misconception with the bigger blowers can produce far more power which is untrue as they all have a 2.4 pressure ratio celing. Proof of this in the harrop dev car. Runing a pressure ratio of 2.2bar it managed 380whp on e85 which is about 320whp on normal pump gas.
Cosworth have successfully spun the tvs900 to 28k rpms which wpuld be enough airflow for well over 400hp but within spec it should be good for about 380hp on slightly lower compression. As far as the cooling systen is concerned. If you search the forum or check the cosworth website are plently pics but it uses two large exchangers in the manifold and a pass pass radiator mounted up infront the coolant radiator. On track I see about +15C increase in post cooler charger temps which is among the best. Another thing to consider is the time and effort put into the development and calibration. I've mentioned cylinder balancing in the tune which makes the engine run a bit safer as it evens out all the cylinder pressures. This requires individual cyclinder pressure sensors to make it work, ideally on a test bench. |
