I bought this one and installed it today. I have absolutely no experience with stuff like this, nor with running wires and found it very straight toward and easy. I had an issue feeding a cable at first, but realized I was feeding the wrong cable..
This.

I did a lot of research, and this turned out to be an awesome plug and play kit - a little pricey but I was looking for as close to OEM as possible, and this is it. The camera is heavy in your hand - just feels like a solid piece, and the image is amazing.

A funny - I thought I'd f**ked the install somehow though - first reverse test showed me the top of a 60' tree in my yard and a shitload of blue sky.

No worries - trunk was open.

Whew!

Also, which harness did you buy?

EDIT: Wow, it doesn't ship to where I live, Canada.

Anyone know if this is any good?

So far the camera is good, no complaints. I've taken the car through a no touch high pressure wash and no problems. The camera is nice because it doesn't fog up, so you can still back up if your rear window is fogged/iced in the morning. Also it's so cheap that if it does break, it wouldn't break my bank to buy a new one.

I'm using the autoharnesshouse.com harness. It was plug and play, no splicing.

I just installed the raydeen duo to my aftermarket head unit. Build quality is really good and no complaints about the picture quality. I think picture quality of all of these are about the same so really your paying more for the build quality. Also, keep in mind that some of these come with the parking lines and some do not. The raydeen has the ability to turn the lines off by connecting two wires. This is good if your head unit already has the lines.

Does your backup camera have the guiding lines?

Yes, but they are easily disabled. You can also flip the image.

The most difficult part of the install was guiding the camera wire through the trunk (metal coat hanger) and getting the end of the camera plug through the rubber trunk grommet. I'd recommend using some type of lube fore that, as the grommet is VERY narrow (insert sex joke).

Also if you ever thought about installing a factory sub/oem audio plus, it would be a good time to do so, since you'd be using the same wiring route.

I'm most likely going to get professional help to install my Tail lights and might as well ask him to do the backup cam as well. I'm on a lease and I don't want to screw anything up. (I do plan to buy the car, but just in case)

Tail lights are very simple, plug and play. i wouldn't waste the money on the tails. the camera on the other hand, might be a bit more work.

Installing backup camera is not hard as you think.
Finished installing mine.
Installed backup camera with 2 parking sensors attached.
Total cost was $50 with hardness.

That rubber grommet on trunk is no joke. I gave up and zip-tied my wires.

BTW FR-S don't come with trunk lid liner?
Its bare metal on mine. I need to find way to tuck in my wires.

Do you have a link to the parking sensors and photos of the install by chance?

Don't know if you need this, but kits for this are on eBay all day for $60-$70 including clips.

Sorry gotta bump this topic again.

Anyone have any other back up camera recommendations aside from Rydeen Duo? I was going to try the one from China but it doesn't ship to my area.

Looking for something that doesn't require drills/holes, has decent quality, fairly priced.

Thanks

To defeat the rubber trunk grommet - tape the cable end, pour in a little bit of liquid soap for lube, fasten a long zip tie to the cable and pull it through - literally took 30 seconds, the cable will slide right through even with the existing ones clogging up the path, and according to what I read, soap will not degrade anything.
