Why did you need to add the 10mm spacer up front? Was the tire rubbing the coilover Spring?

Did you do anything else to the suspension or just that? Been looking at the tarmac 2's myself.

I tarmac 2s and the +45s. They fit fine with a proper alignment.

Edit: with 245/40/17 rs3s.

SMG1138 - I had to add the spacers because the inside of the tire would rub on the inner wheel well when i turned.

That's pretty much it - I know a few people with Tarmac 2's and they are very happy with them. I chose 0's just because i knew i wasn't going to adjust anything buy height.

X2 for me - Carbotech all around for Track (10f, 8r) All stock calipers / separate track / street rotors. Steel lines and RBF

My 245/40 x17 dont rub at all (don't use spacers then) But my 255/40 will without the spacers. I think it's more a height thing and the -1.5 camber

I should have said earlier that I have 245/40 tires, so that makes sense.

Sorry for the thread revival,

But I'm still struggling with picking up either +35 or +45 RPF1s.

I currently have ST coils running -1.5 camber in the front and -2.5 in the rear. I ran an autocross event with my stock rims and tires and found out that I really need a wider set of 17' wheels. So RPF1s it is!

With my camber specs, and track use in mind, should I go for the 45's or 35's? After reading through a few threads I think I should jump on the 35s, however what is the general concession with this setup?

+45's rub on the inside fender liners at full lock, it's really minor if you're on 245's, might loose a string of rubber on the brake line bracket, bigger tires may have more of an issue.

The only time I go to full lock is in parking lots, if these are track/autox wheels/tires only it's a non-issue.

Most people try and get a wider track width so the +35's help there, but if you've got longer studs (I switched to ARP after stripping the OE) you can space out the +45's to get the same effect as the +35's.

I went with the +45's used as they came with good tires and were available. Buying new price being equal, +35 seems to be preferred, but nothing wrong with the +45's if you know what the potential problems are.

Thread revival is preferred to creating multiple threads.

Thanks man,

Yea I figured I'd be safe with 45s since I have coil overs. My 18x9.5 Gramlights w/265's don't rub so +45 RPF1s wouldn't be too much of an issue. And since I don't plan on moving to a BBK then +35s aren't a necessity.

But for the track I think I'll pick up the +35s. The poke with my camber setup will help make the wheels fit inside of the wheel wells.
