That's great news. I've been looking into getting a set of these. But I'm worried I may have some rub when going to full lock on the stock suspension. Others have reported this so this is why I'm so interested. Any idea if these will work on the stock suspension without having any rub issues? I realize tirerack checks fitments and all, but I'm still a little worried about ordering without confirming this. After all, its like $1000+ for a set of 4. I'm looking at these in black with Dunlop Star Specs for my autocrossing wheels. bneale

I've searched the wheel thread and if you read, they are actually 17x8 and not 17x9 for the RFP1's. Only the Mach V's seem to fit right now and none of them fit with a 255 tire. Everyone seems to say they rub. EDIT: Just so everyone is on the same page, the big problem right now with 17x9's and 255 tires is the spring coils themselves. With a 255 tire, the sidewalls will actually rub against the coil when the tire compresses under deflection. So while people have fitted them on the car, under loads they start to rub. People with coilovers are able to get around this because the spring coils are smaller then stock. Thats why I want to confirm fitment on stock suspension. bneale

Thats what I'm thinking also. 245 should be enough tire but I'm still kinda worried about fitment. Not all tires are the exact same size after all.
205 Toyo R1R is the same size as a 225 Hankook RS3. The Toyo's are freaks though. Have you thought about 17x8 instead? 235's should fit on 17x8's instead. Are you doing some serious track duty or autocrossing? bneale

255's will fit with stock suspension on 17x9's like the Mach V. in fact, my mach V's show up today. See my last blog entry on wheel fitments. we used a 949 wheel with spacers to create the right offset. but it fits for sure.

Also, did you really need the spacer? I prefer to do it without the spacer if possible but I can understand if it didn't work without it. bneale

The only reason why I say this is because 17x9's in 5x100 are hard to find right now. They are also going to cost you more money then 17x8's and there is way more styles to choose from in 17x8 size. The reason why I want the 17x9 size is purely for tire fitment and track use. I want my contact patch to be as wide as possible for track use and I don't want to sacrafice that 1 inch. bneale

I didn't add a bunch of spacers for the purpose of running the wheel on the street. we added spacers just to understand what fits. the standard offset of the 949 wheel doesn't fit with a 255 tire. the 6mm of spacers just made it clear the spring and stay inside the wheel well. But if you want to see a picture, there is on in my blog in my signature.
My Mach V's get here today according to the fedex tracking info. They are hub centric, and perfect offset for 255s.

All this is telling me is my initial guess of 17 or 18x9.5 +38 with a 255, coilovers and around 2-3 degrees neg camber will fit and function perfectly. Love reassuring information like this^
