From what I understand, the A/T is getting the same power boost, but the wording is kinda weird. They talk about the power boost in the same sentence that they talk about the manuals new gearing for increased responsiveness.
If the A/T doesn't get it, then I think that would mean they have a different exhaust manifold, and that's where the increase really comes from. But I think they both get it. |

It's amazing to me that we've had integrated systems in cars for over 10 years now and they've hardly improved. And in some cases like this, they seem to have gotten worse! ![]() I mean, how expensive is a decent mobile processor and a small LED/LCD touchscreen these days? And how hard is it to just program or utilize platforms like Android in cars? This is an area where innovation is moving incredibly slow but now that Google and Apple are involved, I hope to see much quicker progress! Let's just hope that Subaru adapts quickly and makes things easily updatable/upgradeable.

MK1 MR2 had a supercharged option that came out in 1988 as someone else mentioned MK2 had a 5 hp increase on the non-turbo 1993 model from the 1991-92 Japan MK2's went from 225 hp to 245 hp by 1994 IIRC

From your guys experience, will cars like the 2017 refresh come with a huge markup when you try to preorder one before they're even out?
Went to a dealership today and I felt like my salesman was full of crap, but I asked him if I can place an order for the 2017 and he said sure. However, he wanted me to know that I should expect a 7 to 8 grand markup since it's sortof a new generation and went on to explain that is what happened when the 2013's came out. But again he was probably just trying to scare me since he was trying to sell me the 2016 on the lot. Funny cause he didn't even know anything about the refresh and had to ask me what the changes were going to be. What are your opinions on this? I don't want to pay over 30 grand for a limited 2017 brz lol..And this is based in northern California. |

Call around and find a dealer that won't **** you over. Another option is to actually wait until the thing comes out, test drive it and make sure you like it, and then buy it.

Is it just me or does the video show the white BRZ with a two tone spoiler? Black in the middle and white on the side?

Yeah 5-20hp makes a MASSIVE difference we can all FEEL. Some people have missed my point completely. They never offered earth shattering levels of increase in power like some guys on here are hoping for(20+%). The first generation 86 will not come with 260 or more horsepower. Even at a 25hp increase people would still complain if that had happen.
