@DocWalt you're definitely overheating the pads; the 71R has more than enough grip to help facilitate that. I think you'll like the BBK.

What do you think caused the pulsing, not letting them cool long enough or just smeared the pads too badly?

Side note: the even overheating of front and rear is a good indicator to me (along with the tire pictures) that you are *NOT* using ABS, and are actually overheating the pads, not abusing them via ABS. |

Good to hear I can likely save the stupid rotors that I literally just replaced...I think I ruined the RBF600... With the stock pads back on the car I can push the pedal as hard as I want and never hit ABS even with cold-ish tires. It was the same after the last track day, I'm not impressed. I'm giving RBF600 another try with the AP kit (I have a few brand new bottles a few months old to get rid of) but if that doesn't work I guess I'll be trying the RT700 or Project Mu fluid. edit: BTW, posted the track videos in the thread in my signature if you're curious.

Should I try XP12 or Club racers next? I am on AP sprint kit and I almost burned through this front set of XP10 in 2 weekends, probably got 1 day left in them.
I read a lot of good things about club racers so I'm leaning toward that. Maybe in a month or two I have one more new set of XP10 to use and haven't book any days gotta check my schedule. Random question also, what cordless impacts are you guys using? I want to get one soon and install ARP studs so I can make my tire changes faster

As far as electric impacts go, a 1/2" Ingersoll Rand is never a bad call. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. |

I raan o8 in the front and dtc60 in the rear and got the rears locking before the front, once things warmed up. I would go 08 all around.

What are the advantages of going to the 13 in the rear? Once I wear through my current set, I might try the combo and see how that goes. |

Got a track related question? I'll try to answer.
Quote:
I use XP12 on AP Sprint for track and like the balance of stopping power/modulation/pad wear/rotor wear. It's the only compound I've used on track with a twin/sprint bbk and will continue to use. I like to be able to switch between 1521/xp12/ax6 since compounds get along nicely on the same rotor. Many cordless drivers will work well, I use Makita tools/batteries, i.e. Makita XDT01Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 3-Speed Impact Driver https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O2ZTD3E..._VLirxbMDD4WPR |
