Sluggish acceleration is probably normal as the ecu has been reset, try to recreate the issues that cause the downshift rev match fail as is in the first post

That is exactly what it feels like, almost like the latest PDK smooth

Just got back from my drive. Everything operates as it should. Was not able to duplicate said rev match delay or lack of. Seems like the update did the job.

Good to hear you got another dealership to flash your car. The dealer I went to refuses to do the reflash of the Transmission module control. Told me they hooked up the laptop to my car and there was no updates needed. My vin # doesn't fall in the TSB. I asked to do a test drive with me but in mid sentence I said fuck it to myself. This will indeed be my last Toyota fucked driven car. I'm already thinking of selling it once it's paid off. I was gonna buy a Greddy or Perrin cat back exhaust but with this incident why bother investing in a car that the dealership just wants to fuck me over. done ranting!

Damn, sucks that this caused you so much headache. Really wish they weren't so stubborn in helping you out. Any BRZ's around that want an FRS?

Damn, I have the flash file on my computer right now by the what its a cuw format, I figure if you have techstream illegally you may be able to flash it yourself not sure. You'd have to follow the latter part of this process after page 12:

I understand, sometimes it'll push you over the edge. It sucks you're in Honolulu with that one dealer. The amount of shit I had to go through to get it done was ridiculous I shouldn't have had to speak to my service manager 2 or 3 times to get it to stick either.

I just had my TMC reflashed at my local Subaru dealership per the TSB and I would like to also confirm that it fixes both the downshift and idle issues!

Do you need to flash back to the stock ECU ROM if you have an OFT flash on it or is this just for the TCM and they don't look at the ECU?

I haven't noticed hard shifts going in/out of cruise control, but I do if I try going into sport mode while driving. If I'm stopped at a red light after driving for a bit and switch it over, it's fine; going out of sport mode while moving is fine too, just not going normal > sport while moving.

Can anyone confirm that with the new TCM flash they can be on the freeway, switch to sport mode, and it doesn't shift hard after that?

Welp I have been dealing with this fiasco for awhile now with my new 2015 Automatic FRS. Just found two of my direct injector seals failed on two of my cylinders now too.

To sum it up - the rough shifting problem started occuring at about 800km in the car. It didn't happen all the time so I was hoping it would go away with time (new engine and all) didn't feel like anything serious. The problem became progressively worse so I printed the TSB and took it to the dealer - they found the Canadian version of it and said to bring the car in and they would fix it. I arranged an appointment with them and the soonest they could get me in was 2 days.

I drove the car the next day and I got a CEL - the car immediately went into limp mode. I turned the car off and on - tightened my gas cap and it went away. I thought it was the gas cap and continued to drive it, the day after I got another cell and again limp mode - this time I knew it wasn't the gas cap. I called the dealer and explained it to them, they told me they would take a look at it when I brought the car in for my appointment.

So I parked the car and stopped driving it. Woke up that morning, no cell - drove the car halfway to the dealer and again limp mode right on the middle of the highway. After barely making it to the dealer with the car they spent 3 1/2 hours looking at it and called me and told me that two of my DI seals failed on two my cylinders and that the hard shifting was a seperate issue entirely but both would be fixed within a week (have to leave the car with them)

Then I read the DI seal failure topic and apparently it's caused by shifting and bad factory tune Is it possible this ECU problem screwed with my engine and made my direct injectors fail? If so this ECU problem is serious and if anybody has it they need to completely stop driving the car and get it to the dealer ASAP or risk engine damage because if you don't catch on to the ECU problem then you risk DI seal failure and if you don't catch the seal failure fast enough then RIP engine - of course assuming the problems are related.

That's my concern as well. Especially since I plan to go the jrsc route sometime down the road.

IT only flashes the TCM. But you should flash to stock before having the TSB done, then after that you're all good to flash whatever you like on the car

so if you have an aftermarket tune / FI then you'd have to flash back to stock? What about those with injectors / fuelpump that are aftermarket
