Yeah, I figured it was a bad filter so I bought two, woo $40 out the door. Tried a new one. Same issue. My problem is that I ran this brand of filter for the last year on every change with zero issues.

I'm surprised the M1 filter is that pricey. I'm happy with the OEMs on this car, so I plan on sticking with it.

Remember, correlation is not causation. I'm guessing the different gauge behavior you're seeing is unrelated to the viscosity of the oil.

What psi is the sender good up to? It *could* be going wonky because it's reading too much pressure for it to handle.

100psi, which I know the car goes higher than, but even on 0w20 the thing would read 100psi til it warmed up and drop to whatever and operate properly.

Maybe the ground came loose. Need to pull the dash apart and check tonight.

Just wanted to throw an update here. After my pressures dropping to insanely low levels on the gauge I decided to check all the wiring. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until I checked where the two wires hooked up to the pressure sender. While tightening the ground I burnt my finger, which was odd, and then I noticed it was coated in oil. Upon further inspection I noticed oil seeping out the back of the pressure sender! Its like the who back of the sender unit had cracked...

I'm just seeing this now. I had posted about this before. Same MTX oil press/temp kit. and a sender went bad on me. i bought a replacement one from innovate for cheap. but I dont trust it anymore so I plan on switching pressure gauges/senders soon. it took a good 1 year and 3 months for it to pop. right before it failed i got erratic readings. but mine were not going high. mine were slowly dropping and rolling around + or minus 20 psi.

Fortunately I parked my car once i saw the readings and it didn't explode until after I turned it back on trying to figure out what was causing the issue.
