I was pissed this morning to get this news, so I emailed Michelin to bitch at them about it. A customer service rep responded in minutes to assure me that the PSS is NOT being discontinued. He said some sizes are on a production backorder in their warehouses at the moment. He couldn't tell me when they would be available again, but he insisted that they are not being discontinued.

He also said the PS4 is scheduled to be released in June in 235/45/17 and 255/35/19. He didn't have any info on release dates for other sizes of the PS4.

So now I'm not sure what to believe. Backordered with no information on future production sounds a lot like "discontinued but not ready to announce it yet" to me.

Same here on stock tires for over a year and stretched.. thankfully nothing has happened at all and now it's time to get new tires anyways. I have a set of michelin pss on the way. Good to know that this is so dangerous in case it ever happens again!! My tire Guy is amazing! When it happened I was told it was too close to sidewall at another tire place but this guy patched and still working fine 20k+ miles later

No, actually it's not. Don't ask. I can't say more.
