Just to be clear, you couldn't even log into the tech stream? Or you made it in, but registering codes requires you to provide actual credentials?

Its a $50 subscription I believe, but even then it asks for your tech id which only a technician has......

I've had no trouble with programming new remotes on the frs/brz with a pirated copy of techstream before, and I've done programmed new G keys with it as well. Unfortunately never had any luck with the twins.

I wonder what makes them so different. Why are they different from say a camry, or a corolla?

Not too sure, From what one toyota technician told me he said that it was a denso ECU by subaru, but made to run on techstream. which confuses me considering that i'm able to program remotes.
