37 hours, thats not too bad actually. Can probably get there in less than 3 days if I don't stop to sight see and only for bathroom breaks, food, few hours of sleep.

ill take to the dealer, houston toyota dealers are pretty busy with all the floods, Im pretty sure this is an easy job though, hopefully.

It is needed as it controls the manual mode. Without it the paddles and/ moving the shifter over does nothing. Otherwise the manual boot would work fine just pulling that off. There is a write up on it in the thread on repining the +/- to the correct orientation. That's why I did it because I hated that it still read backwords and there was no simple fix for that without tacky looking stickers

I think you misunderstood what I said, I said it was unnecessary to have a shift boot that covers the entire thing.

but Im gonna have to check if them make that. I contacted them about it a long time ago and they never got back to me after a couple email exchanges
