any mention of how long the wheels were in use prior to their failure?

i haven't experienced it yet but wheels are a wear item that eventually need to be replaced...especially when using grippy tires...they will fatigue.

this. my past research has allowed me to think forgestar was a reputable wheel manufacturer.

But he has hairline cracks on all 4 of his wheels. It must have been a bad batch or something.

Damn.. And I know people who run Rotas in Time Attack seasons and they hold up without issue.. :o

And no, I'm not saying Rotas are a better quality brand. Just that they're decent enough for the price, that's all.

Googling Forgestar F14 failures leads me to believe that this isn't really a new thing.

Found posts about stress cracks from two years ago.

Yeah seems like since this got so much publicity they're helping out but I've seen a lot of horror stories about their customer service. I guess it's hit or miss.

is Forgestar actually helping the guy out with repairing his car, or just covering his wheels? I would assume they are safe from liability since it was off-road usage but it would be a better PR move to help the guy out...

He commented on his original video and said.

"Yup, the takeaway here is to inspect wheels regularly, even in the places that are hard to see. Forgestar actually got a hold of me and are offering a refund on the wheels and are going to buy me a replacement balljoint. They're going to take a look at the remaining wheels and do some analysis."

JUST a replacement balljoint? that's like $30... looks like there's more damage than just a balljoint lol.

Our OEM wheels are great. Short of massive impacts that would take out any wheel, they're bullet proof. I'd still like a nice set of BBS or Volks, but that $, yo!

Have you tried searching for stores of other broken wheels? I'd bet you could find similar stories for many other wheel models.

I'm sure a 3500lb Mustang with aero and 335/345 Hoosier A6s are putting a wee bit more lateral load into the wheels than the OPs video.

There is, and it is quite simple.

End of March, the S2000 owner went off at a high speed at WSIR (Big Willow). Never inspected the wheels after the event.

For the lazy:
