I've been running Diode Dynamics bulbs in my car for a few months with exactly zero issues. I never heard of anyone blowing the BIU by changing the dome light.

i did a search before i bought the leds for the purpose of bulb size, and that's when i found out about the BIU issue. if i didn't find that i probably would've just changed it without any worries, and chances are they'll work fine Lol.just that one small percentage of error....

you can avoid blowing the BIU with the door light install by taking these precautions.

unplug the door light harness connector before putting on your new bulb
No not pry out the bulb with the connector in place with a metal tool

the BIU usually blows because the connection is shorted
